I don’t hate prologues in general, but (view spoiler) I didn't love the prologue, unfortunately. I loved this, they’re human and relatable in their flaws. The characters are imperfect and I mean it in a good way. Doran nailed it, female characters are strong and well-rounded and Anyosa just became one of my favourite fictional ladies of all time. This author knows how to write female characters and unfortunately it’s not always granted. When the POV wasn’t hers, I waited anxiously to go back to Anyosa. She’s so sassy and sharp-tongued I honestly couldn’t wait to read her chapters. I loved both Anyosa and Sethes, but Anyosa especially won my heart. It’s my problem and not a flaw of this book. I think it could’ve been explained in more detail, but don’t mind me, I’m a lore enthusiast. I loved the worldbuilding, it reminded me of ancient Greece instead of the usual Medieval setting and it’s indeed a breath of fresh air.
